Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 16, 2026

Welcome to pickupmyappliance.com ("we," "us," or "our"). We are deeply committed to safeguarding your personal privacy. This Privacy Policy details our practices regarding the collection, deployment, disclosure, and protection of your information when you interact with our website and utilize our lead-matching platform (collectively, the "Service"). Please review this document carefully to understand our data practices.

1. The Information We Collect

We gather information through various channels when you interact with our platform. This data generally falls into the following categories:

Personal Information Provided Directly by You

For Appliance Owners (Users): When you request a removal, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, exact physical address (street, city, state, and zip code), appliance type, equipment condition, and any uploaded photographs of the items.

For Removal Businesses (Partners): When signing up to receive leads, we collect your business name, primary contact name, professional email address, telephone number, and your designated geographic service territories.

Payment and Billing Details

All financial transactions, card processing, and recurring subscription billing for our Partners are handled exclusively by Stripe, our third-party payment vendor. We never directly collect, view, or store your full card or banking details. We advise reviewing Stripe's privacy documentation to understand their specific security protocols.

Automatically Logged Technical Data

Our servers automatically log basic technical metrics when you use our Service, such as your IP address, browser type, device operating system, referring page, and the sections of our site you visit. This information is used to operate the platform, prevent abuse, and diagnose issues. We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the site.

Media and Imagery

Photographs uploaded during the appliance submission process are stored in our backend storage layer, powered by Supabase (Lovable Cloud). These images are used strictly to show our local Partners the condition and type of appliance requiring removal.

2. How Your Data Is Utilized

We use the information we gather to support our business operations, specifically to:

  • Operate, maintain, and optimize the functional features of our platform.
  • Route appliance removal requests to appropriate local contractors to facilitate free pickups.
  • Oversee Partner accounts and process premium lead access fees via Stripe.
  • Send account-related emails such as sign-in confirmations and password resets through our authentication provider (Supabase / Lovable Cloud).
  • Study platform metrics and geographical performance to enhance our marketing and services.
  • Address inquiries, resolve technical issues, and provide customer support.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We only disclose your information in the following explicit operational scenarios:

With Independent Local Service Partners (Pickers): When a User submits a removal request, their contact details (name, phone number, email), pickup address, appliance descriptions, and photos are shared with independent third-party Partners within that service area. For Partners on our pay-per-lead model, this identity and contact data remains hidden/redacted until the lead is successfully purchased.

With Core Service Providers: We share necessary data with the third-party infrastructure vendors that power our platform:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Supabase (Lovable Cloud) — authentication, database hosting, file storage for uploaded photos, and delivery of account-related auth emails (sign-in confirmations, password resets).

If we add additional vendors in the future (for example, a transactional email provider or web analytics), we will update this policy to reflect them.

Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if mandated to do so by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe in good faith that such action is vital to protect our legal rights, property, or the safety of our users and the general public.

4. Independent Third-Party Picker Relationships

The removal businesses, haulers, and Pickers accessible through our platform are independent third-party contractors. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of Pick Up My Appliance. We operate a lead-matching platform that connects Users with independent service providers in their area; we do not perform removals ourselves and we do not control the manner in which independent Pickers complete jobs.

Any information we share with a Picker is shared solely to facilitate the requested removal. We recommend that Users verify credentials, insurance, and licensing directly with any independent contractor they choose to engage. Pick Up My Appliance is not responsible for the actions, omissions, or quality of work of any independent third-party Picker.

5. Data Protection and Retention Guidelines

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our backend. For information stored with our vendors, we rely on the security environments provided by Stripe and Supabase (Lovable Cloud). No digital storage method or internet transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure.

Appliance Photos: Uploaded appliance photos are retained for 90 days after submission and are then removed from our storage systems.

Lead & Submission Records: Text-based submission details (contact information, addresses, and item descriptions) are retained for up to 24 months from the date of submission, after which they are anonymized or deleted, except where a longer period is required to meet tax, accounting, or legal obligations.

Partner Accounts: Contractor business records are kept for the active duration of the partnership. After account closure, we retain limited billing and transaction records for up to 7 years to satisfy tax and accounting requirements, and Stripe retains payment records under its own retention policy.

Backups & Logs: Routine database backups and server logs may contain residual copies of your data for a short period (typically up to 30 days) before being overwritten in the ordinary course of operations.

6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your place of residence, you may possess specific statutory rights regarding your personal information, including the right to view, update, correct, or permanently wipe your data from our systems.

Self-Service Erasure: You can immediately wipe your personal data using our dedicated self-service data removal tool on our website.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): California residents hold additional rights, including data portability and the explicit right to exercise privacy preferences without facing discriminatory service terms. For requests not covered by our self-service tools, please contact us using the email below.

7. Geographic Scope: United States Only

This platform is built and intended exclusively for residents of the United States. We do not knowingly process appliance removal requests from outside the US, and our submission forms strictly require valid domestic zip codes and addresses. If you reside outside the United States, please do not attempt to submit information to our platform. All data is processed and hosted on servers located within the United States.

8. Protecting Minors

Our Service is restricted to individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not intentionally gather personal records from minors under the age of 18. If we discover that an individual under 18 has submitted personal information to us, we will immediately take steps to purge that data from our active databases.

9. Policy Revisions

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect operational, legal, or administrative adjustments. Any changes will be made public by publishing the revised document on this page and updating the "Effective Date" posted at the top. We encourage you to review this policy routinely to stay informed on how we protect your information.
